Green Claims Checker
Find greenwashing risks across your store and fix them with clear, documented decisions.
Read-only: the app never edits your store

Find and fix risky eco claims under Directive (EU) 2024/825
Directive (EU) 2024/825 (ECGT) bans generic claims such as "eco-friendly", offset-based "climate neutral" claims and self-made sustainability labels. Lektoro scans products, collections, pages, blog posts, theme texts and translations, shows where each risky claim appears, why it is flagged and how to reword it. Record evidence or exceptions and share a report with your lawyer. Read-only: the app never edits your store. Not legal advice. For stores selling to consumers in the EU.

Questions and answers
Does the app change anything in my store?
No. It only has read access. It shows where a claim appears and links to the Shopify editor; you change the text yourself. It has no write permissions at all.
What does the app check?
Generic environmental claims, offset-based climate claims, self-made sustainability labels, whole-product claims that cover only a part, legal requirements presented as a feature, durability and repairability claims, future "net zero" pledges without a plan, and protected organic terms. Each finding shows the rule and its legal basis.
Which content and languages are scanned?
Products (title, description, SEO, text metafields) on every plan. On paid plans also collections, pages, blog posts, theme texts and translations in all published languages. The claim library covers English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish and Danish; other languages are checked with English rules only. Images, PDFs and texts from other apps are not scanned.
What if I hold a certificate or recognised ecolabel?
Recognised labels such as the EU Ecolabel are not flagged, and a generic claim next to one is downgraded to "Needs evidence". You can mark a finding as substantiated and attach the evidence; the decision is kept in the audit log and in the report.
A product or brand name contains "green" or "eco". What can I do?
Add a brand or product name exception. By default it applies to one product; a store-wide exception needs the full name and a confirmation, and the app shows how many findings it will hide first.
Does the app keep watching after the first scan?
On paid plans, products, collections and the theme are re-checked automatically when they change; pages and blog posts are refreshed when you open the app. Alerts are shown in the app; there are no emails.
Does this make my store compliant? Is this legal advice?
No. The app flags wording that is commonly considered risky under Directive (EU) 2024/825 and helps you document your decisions. It does not check whether a claim is true, and national rules and dates differ by country. It is not legal advice; ask your legal advisor to confirm the final wording.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Sessions are deleted at once. Findings, evidence and the audit log are kept for 48 hours so an accidental uninstall does not erase your records; then all data is deleted.
