Google Shopping product data check
Google compares the product page with the data your feed app sends. This check opens a sample of a store’s product pages and shows where the structured data is missing, where price or availability differ from the product feed and whether GTIN and brand are there.
Anonymous: we keep only daily counts of checks. Store addresses and results are not saved, and there are no tracking cookies in the tool.

Any Shopify store with public product pages.
02We open a sample of product pages
Up to 5 pages spread over the newest 50 products, read with the same structured data rules as the app.

Questions about this tool
Why do price or availability mismatches matter?
Merchant Center disapproves items when the price or availability on the landing page differs from the submitted data, and frequent mismatches can lead to an account warning or suspension for misrepresentation.
What is structured data?
Machine-readable product data in the page (JSON-LD, microdata or meta tags) with the name, brand, price, currency, availability and GTIN. Google uses it to verify the feed and for automatic item updates.
Why compare with the public product feed?
It is the store’s own public product data (/products.json), so a page price that differs from it usually means a theme snippet, currency rounding or a price app changes what Google sees. The app compares with the exact data in Shopify, including barcodes, which are not public.
Which GTIN problems are detected?
A wrong check digit, an invalid length, letters in the code, codes made of zeros, GS1 restricted-circulation and coupon prefixes, and 8-digit codes starting with 0 that should be entered as the full 12-digit UPC-A.
